Becci Tyrrell, a copywriter from TBWA Manchester come into class and give a lecture on what it is like in the advertising industry. She actually calmed many peoples nerves on how to get into the industry, and was so genuine and down to earth.
One of the main ways to get noticed was to ‘have hunger to want it’.
As well as this, as a class, we were given an external brief from her to pitch in 3 weeks…
Exciting!
For weeks leading up to the Olympics and on tv and in print, you would constantly see adverts supporting the London 2012 athletes and Subway wasn’t an exception.
Featuring boxer Antony Ogogo and Pole Vaulter Holly Bleasdale, Subway were sponsering these athletes using the ‘Train hard, eat fresh’ slogan.
However, since the olympics are over, ive noticed that Subway seemed to have changed the lineup who they are featuring in their advertisements.
Ogogo, having won an Oylmpic Gold Medal, and Bleasdale failing to gain one, they’ve replaced here with Louis Smith, an international gymnast who had acheived a medal London 2012.
I feel like this might be a kick in the teeth from Subway to poor Holly.
Onwards and upwards I suppose.
For a breif during my second year, we were given a task of combinating an event and a location.
This piece is will be sown up together as it represents an English fry up breakfast using clothes and fabric. It symoblizes having breakfast at a laundrette’s cafe. The link is the round washing machine door with the clothes inside the machine.
I shall post a finished piece when I have crafted the piece.
